Mr Tulk cafe

Our licensed cafe Mr Tulk is open Monday to Saturday for breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee and cake.

The menu is varied, with daily specials and vegetarian and gluten-free options.

You can access Mr Tulk from La Trobe Street or through the Library’s foyer and locker area. Bookings aren’t required; tel 03 8660 5700 for general inquiries.

Opening hours are:

• Monday to Thursday, 7am–5pm
• Friday, 7am–9pm (happy hour 5.30-6.30pm).
• Saturday, 9am–4pm

The cafe is closed Sundays and public holidays.

Please note

To protect our collections, we don't allow food or drink inside the Library - although you can bring bottled water into some Library areas, provided it has a secure lid.

Readings bookshop

The Library's onsite bookshop, run by Readings, is located in Palmer Hall, between Mr Tulk and the foyer, tel 03 8664 7540.

Readings is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm.

The store stocks an extensive range of fiction and non-fiction titles, including books co-published by the Library; cards; notebooks and more.
