Need to use a computer, connect to our free wireless internet, print or make your own copies of Library material? Find out more here.
Library computers are free and you don't need to book. You can use them to browse our catalogue, access information databases, search the internet and print. You can also use your own flash drive or external hard drive.
You can use Notepad to edit text, and you can view and print (but not make changes to) Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.
You need to abide by the Library's Information & Communication Technology Security Policy when you use our computers.
Our free wireless connection allows you to access the web (including web-based email), use our online catalogue, search for journal articles and ebooks and print most file formats (you need a copy, print & scan card).
There are wireless hotspots in all the main rooms except Cowen Gallery and power points in all our reading rooms.
Conditions and restrictions on what you can copy apply.
To use our self-service copiers and printers you need a copy, print & scan card (purchase one from our Copy centre) – or you can register any card with a magnetic strip. Use cash or EFTPOS to add credit to your card in our Copy centre.
Instructions on how to photocopy, scan, print and pick up your print job can be found in the Copy centre and on our full website.
Photocopies and computer printouts cost 15c (A4, b&w) and $2 (A4, colour).
You can use your own camera, mobile phone or other device to copy Library material or photograph the building anywhere except the Keith Murdoch Gallery. Most print and digital materials can be copied with your own device, but there are some conditions and restrictions.
Complete information on computers and our wireless network, and copying, scanning and printing can be found in the Computers, printers & photocopiers section of our full website. You can also check information provided in the Copy centre or contact staff at an information desk.
The Library also offers an online fee-based service for ordering copies of collection items. Please inquire in person at the Library or see information about this copy ordering service on our full website.
